A special volunteer program at St. Mark's is that of a Scripture Reader. As a volunteer you may choose the Saturday, 5:00 p.m. service, or the Sunday service that you prefer, 8:30am or 11:00am. A scripture reader is called on an average of two times per year. The readings consist of the first and second scripture lessons and the psalm. The church office will mail the reading material to you well in advance of the scheduled reading date. We encourage you to consider this leadership opportunity which involves a minimum amount of time for an important part of our worship service.
Concerned about having to read all those long and difficult to pronounce Bible names and places in public? No worries! We offer a Pronunciation Guide (below) which lists many commonly used words, along with their phonetic pronunciations.
If you are interested in volunteering, please call and leave your name and phone number, along with which service you would prefer to read, at the church office (419-353-9305) or email us at: stmarkbg@dacor.net
